Although, I guess if they’re actually filming and releasing it, it can’t be considered a fake movie. Okay. They get it on a technicality.
I’m still not sure what to make of this. News dropped that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were doing this a couple of months ago, apparently in secret. Once people started talking about it, Will Ferrell came out and said that the whole thing couldn’t be released as a surprise, it wasn’t going to be released at all. That in and of itself, smelled a little fishy, because as Ned Stark once said, “One does not simply scrap a fake Lifetime movie.”
The synopsis for the film reads thus…
Inspired by a true story, A Deadly Adoption is a high-stakes dramatic thriller about a successful couple (Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig) who house and care for a pregnant woman (Jessica Lowndes) during the final months of her pregnancy with the hope of adopting her unborn child.
Sounds great, but seriously, who cares? You had me at fake Lifetime movie. Also Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. Also calling it A Deadly Adoption. The movie drops on June 20. You can check out the trailer below.
